Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board chooses Advent Services for data management project involving the FL Department of Economic Opportunity and the US Air Force

Advent Services, a local Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, was recently awarded a contract by the Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board. The project is for the development and implementation of a process to transfer workforce data from multiple military sources to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (FL DEO), the state agency that collects, stores, and analyzes labor market information

Currently, state and workforce agencies that operate employment programs designed to connect veterans to jobs and training opportunities have not had access to separating military member’s workforce data. Without accurate data on the skill sets of those exiting the military, economic development organizations are not able to document the skills sets of transitioning service members for job matching, business recruitment or expansion projects.

The United States Air Force approved the release of non-personally identifying information (PII) workforce data from three military installations in Northwest Florida to FL DEO. These installations includeTyndall Air Force Base, Eglin Air Force Base, and Hurlburt Field. Advent’s work will allow state and workforce agencies to access this data and utilize to provide services to the veteran community.

The project is intended to act as a pilot project, with plans to gather workforce data from all military installations in the state of Florida.

According to Mr. Tomas Santos-Alejandro, Advent’s President: “We at Advent are elated to be part of this endeavor. This project will directly impact our local economy and our military population, both active duty and veterans, and we are proud to be part of the future success of our community.”

Advent Services specializes in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering and Information Technology services for government and private sector organizations.
